The Ligenda Associates School Vision Screening Program meets all legal requirements. It is designed to screen a large number of students and identify children with possible visual difficulties at the earliest possible stage. This allows time for the child to get a diagnosis with treatment with as little interference to their learning as possible.
Your screening will include the following:
- A two part screening, the first screening occurs for all students and is a quick appraisal of the student's vision. The second screening occurs 2-4 weeks after the first and is only for those students who do not pass the first screening.
- Distance Visual Acuity using an Optotype Test at a far point for all students able to read letters. For pre-literate students or students who are unable to read letters, a developmentally appropriate chart will be used
- Near Visual Acuity using a Nearpoint Snellen Acuity Card. The chart will be developmentally appropriate
- Color Vision Testing using pseudoisochromatic plates
- The preparation of Individualized student screening reports for every student screened
- Referral Letters for students who do not pass the screening
- Screening summary for site
- Education materials and instructions for site
