A student’s health, and their ability to see and hear properly, greatly impacts their ability to learn and their social development. In fact, multiple studies have linked uncorrected vision and/or hearing problems with low self-esteem, poor academic performance, and behavioral difficulties.
School screenings are mandated by law (C.E.C.49452). They are an important part of early detection of potential vision, hearing, and scoliosis problems. The screening process is not a means for diagnosis but instead is used to gather data and refer students with possible problems for further evaluation.
Screenings are a quick and effective means to take a large group of students and identify those who may be at risk.
The Ligenda On-Site School Screening Program offers:
- Combined screenings of mandates, thereby minimizing costs and disruption of school routine. This program offers a quick and efficient method to satisfy mandate requirements.
- Single mandate screenings when preferred
- Individualized student screening reports, referrals, and documentation for site
